I’m Abi, a writer, editor, and creator based in Washington, D.C. I’m currently a freelancer, writing about local happenings for 730DC and producing The Opportunist podcast. In 2022, I created the podcast We’re Here with Melissa Wade, and in 2026, I created an audio literary magazine called Footprint.

A graduate of George Mason University’s MFA program, I’m at work on two collections of essays and one novel. You can find some of my writing in The Rumpus, The American Scholar, Potomac Review, and Last Syllable, among other literary journals, and on my Substack, abinewhouse.substack.com.

When I’m not working, I’m actually probably still working. I’m a new mother, and I’ve loved exploring D.C., escaping to natural spaces whenever possible, and cuddling up as a family (including my cat, who is a total nut).

If you want to work together or just say hi, send me an email via the form below. You can follow Footprint on Instagram @footprint.litmag, or follow my personal account @abinewhouse (but fair warning: my personal content is all nonsense).

Let’s work together.
